Moving Through a Space

Looking at moving through the courtyard and into the library, still a few zoomed in views but some are an improvement. Spent some time on detail work, which is something I usually avoid, it has a good effect and will be a necessity for and finished drawings I attempt but I think I need to focus more on the composition of the piece and placement of figures and objects. I'm also keeping up the note taking, which is very useful for refining my images.

Various pieces

Various sketches looking mainly at spaces, these are failed attempts, useful only as practice.

Portraits from Nero

More sketeches to be used for character ideas/designs, collected from Nero.

Portraits

Sketches of faces from various locations, mainly for practice and to have things to draw from for character designs, a good start but a greater volume is needed.

Waterstones

Sketches from the cafe in Waterstones, looking at placing figures in a space. I managed a less zoomed in view than usual but I could have done better, especially as the view doesn't much of the figures.

Wilson Gallery

Some drawings collected from the Wilson art gallery. I started off drawing the lobby from different angles, I seem to have difficulties drawing a whole space, the views are always too zoomed in and focus more on detail than the whole space; this is something I need to work on. Afterwards I concentrated on drawing people and trying to capture their actions, this went far better although the actions and poses themselves were not especially exciting.

Performing Arts Drawings

I went to the universities Oxstalls campus to draw performing arts students as they practiced for a performance at the Wilson art gallery and museum, the performance was based on the glass exhibition by Colin Reid; some of the drawings are from the performance its self. The images will likely not be very useful as the poses taken during the performance were unusual and not those that people would often take, I did also sketch some at rest poses and portraits which I may be able to use for other purposes. I had a lot of practice in drawing movement and figures however and so it was a useful experience.
